Plagiarism, RWD, and Fees Policy Update

2026-01-31

The Editorial Board of Senarai: Journal of Islamic Heritage and Civilization hereby announces updates to its publication policies as part of the journal’s continuous commitment to academic integrity, editorial transparency, and adherence to the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All submitted manuscripts are subject to mandatory plagiarism screening. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, duplicate submission, redundant publication, or unethical reuse of previously published material, is considered a serious violation of publication ethics and will be addressed through a structured and proportionate editorial process. To preserve the integrity of the scholarly record, the journal formally enforces its Retraction, Withdrawal, and Data Correction (RWD) policy, which governs corrective actions applied to manuscripts or published articles when ethical violations, significant errors, or reliability concerns are identified.

Within this ethical framework, an Administrative Fee may be applied only upon the explicit request of the author(s) and solely in connection with author-initiated actions related to plagiarism resolution, manuscript withdrawal, article retraction, or data correction. This fee is strictly administrative in nature and is intended only to cover verifiable operational and documentation costs arising from such requests. The existence or payment of an administrative fee has no influence whatsoever on editorial decisions, ethical determinations, peer-review outcomes, or publication status, all of which remain entirely governed by academic judgment and ethical standards.

The journal also reaffirms its Article Processing Charge (APC) policy as part of its open-access publishing model. APCs are completely independent from editorial evaluation and peer review and do not affect acceptance, rejection, or revision decisions. Editorial independence remains absolute and uncompromised.

These updated policies take effect immediately and apply to all manuscripts submitted from the date of this announcement onward. Authors, reviewers, and readers are encouraged to review the full and detailed policy documents available on the journal’s official website.
