The Editorial Board of Senarai: Journal of Islamic Heritage and Civilization proudly presents Volume 2, Number 2 (2026) under the theme Reconfiguring Islamic Civilization through Contemporary Quranic Studies. This issue comprises eight peer-reviewed articles by nineteen scholars from Indonesia, Iraq, and Azerbaijan. The contributions engage key debates in Quranic interpretation, Islamic legal philosophy, gender and social ethics, architecture, and intercivilizational history. Advancing neo-contemporary perspectives, the articles revisit disability and gender-just readings of scripture, classical exegesis of Surah An-Nisa (4:3), hifz al-‘irdh and fiqh muamalah, debates on domestic labor, the Ottoman intellectual legacy in Europe, and the semiotics of resilience in vernacular architecture. Together, these studies portray Islam as a dynamic civilizational force within the longue durée of Islamic civilization, reaffirming the journal’s commitment to rigorous and globally engaged scholarship.
